 ‘Wherever there is lots of dirt, our cleaning wipers fit the bill!’ laughs Marika Stammler, whose most recent role has been area sales manager for key accounts at MEWA. She has been working in sales for more than thirty years. It’s not something she studied. ‘I started as a shoe saleswoman,’ she says. Then, at the age of 28, she moved to the sales department at MEWA. ‘That was a real challenge,’ she recalls. What did she find helpful? ‘The all-round support: MEWA is a family business. We do everything together, pull together as a team. There’s always someone to talk to – morning, noon and night! It makes MEWA strong – and me, too.’

I was given support right from the beginning

Julia Hoppe had a good start at the company, too: ‘I was given support right from the beginning: with training, sales materials, in every aspect,’ says the regional manager, who has been working in the sales department since 2015. ‘And I had a mentor who was there for me.’ She never felt she was alone. Now, she is excited about what the future holds: ‘At MEWA, every door is open to me,’ she says. ‘Even in the interview, I realised this was a company where I would be able to develop my skills. And where I wouldn’t stand still.’ 

Lots of support, quick decision-making and plenty of responsibility

Marika Stammler has never stood still, either. She worked her way up from regional manager to area sales manager for key accounts. Today, she looks back on many successful years working at MEWA and is ‘still in love with cleaning wipers,’ she says. In all these years, she never once considered a change. ‘MEWA has everything you need to feel good and be able to develop,’ she says. ‘Friendly colleagues, lots of support, quick decision-making and plenty of responsibility.’ She laughs: ‘And cool equipment, a company car and a good salary. What more could you want?’ In March 2017, she moved away from active sales to work in junior staff development: she now works as a mentor for MEWA, helping young members of staff get their careers off the ground – like Julia Hoppe and her mentor when she first began at the company.
