How do we handle your personal data?
MEWA Textil-Service AG & Co. We attach great importance to the protection and safety of personal data in this regard. Your personal data is processed with due regard to the relevant data protection regulations. In particular, we are subject to the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the requirements of which have been taken into account in the design of our survey processes.

When conducting surveys, we work exclusively with trusted partners and market research institutes, which are subject to our instructions and, in addition to complying with data protection regulations, also align their activities with the guidelines and quality standards of the German market and social research associations (hereafter "partners").

Your participation in surveys is voluntary and your information will be treated with the strictest confidence. We want to bolster your confidence and for this reason we are disclosing the details
of how we handle personal data. The following explanation will give you an overview of how we guarantee the protection of your data when carrying out surveys and what type of data is processed
for which purpose and to what extent.

This privacy policy is supplemented by the general "Data Protection Information of the MEWA Group" (which can be found at https://www.mewa-service.com/others/managing-personal-data)

For which purposes do we process your personal data? On what legal basis?
The processing of personal data by MEWA takes place within the framework of the applicable data protection regulations. We process personal data exclusively for specified purposes. As part of our internal survey/market research processes, we process personal information for the purpose of improving MEWA products/services and strengthening our customer relationships

Invitation to Participate in Surveys: To address potential participants, we process (as far as is necessary) information such as your name and/or your business contact details (address, e-mail, telephone). You will only be contacted by e-mail or telephone if you have given your express or (in case of telephone contact) presumed consent and in consideration of the legal requirements. Without your explicit consent, we will use your e-mail address only in exceptional circumstances and in compliance with statutory privileges to contact existing customers. You may object to MEWA's use of your e-mail address with effect for the future at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs according to basic tariffs (see below for the exercising of your right of objection).

Anonymous Implementation of Surveys: In principle, our surveys are carried out without the processing of personal data and while maintaining strict anonymity in order to obtain the most open and honest feedback possible from the participants. Only in exceptional cases and exclusively on the basis of your separate consent do we conduct personal surveys in individual cases or, if you wish, create a personal reference (e.g. if you would like to be contacted about the results of the survey or your details).

In the run-up to a survey, we will explicitly point out that your anonymity is safeguarded. To ensure anonymity, the survey results will be evaluated anonymously by our partners. We, as the client, receive only aggregated and anonymous evaluations and have no possibility of establishing a connection to you personally as a participant in the survey. We also have no rights to instruct our partners in this regard.

Online Surveys: With online surveys, the technical access data transmitted by your browser, e.g. the name of your Internet service provider, the date and time of your access to the survey tool and/or the recognition data of the browser/operating system used, will be automatically stored. The web server necessarily will also store your IP address, which, at least theoretically, may allow assignment to you personally. However, the access data is not combined with your survey results or other data sources and this data is not evaluated or transmitted to us as the client. Storage of access data is necessary to provide a functioning online survey process and to ensure system security for technical reasons. The data is retained only for the period in which this data is needed to achieve the above-mentioned purposes. In this case, your IP address will be stored for a maximum of 7 days. You will be informed about any further technically relevant data processing (e.g. the placement of cookies) as part of the online surveys by our partners separately.

We process personal data for the above purposes with the consent given on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) of the GDPR, otherwise based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the
GDPR, including appropriate (advertising) direct contact by e-mail and/or telephone.

Data Processing Outside the Survey Process: If you get in touch with our partner via e-mail, contact form or by phone, for example, during the course of the survey or if you voluntarily provide the partner with further personal data (e.g. for participation in a competition), the information provided and transmitted by you will be used exclusively for these purposes and, where necessary, stored and processed by our partner as the data controller. This data is kept strictly separate from your replies/information in the survey. Even in such cases, no personal data will be transmitted to us as the client, unless this is expressly desired by you as an exception.

How do we protect your data?
Our surveys are conducted in compliance with reasonable technical and organisational measures, and, in particular, data is protected against loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation and alteration by unauthorised persons as well as against unauthorised access and unauthorised disclosure or distribution. Online surveys are carried out using state-of-the-art encryption technology.

Who receives your data and are they sent to a third country?
The survey data collected is processed exclusively by the appointed partner we are using to carry out the survey and is not passed on to any third party. When carrying out the surveys, our partners (without the restriction of anonymity) are strictly bound by our instructions (Processors, Art. 28 of the GDPR).

How long will my data be stored?
We place great importance on the principles of data reduction and the data economy. Any personal data is stored only for the required appropriate storage duration for the respective purpose. In particular, our partners are obligated to delete any contact data (e.g. name, e-mail address, telephone number) provided for contacting participants, for example, from their databases after appropriate use.

What rights do you have as a data subject?
As a data subject, you are entitled to the rights of informa-tion, cancellation, rectification and other rights, about which you will be informed in detail in our general "Data Protection Information of the MEWA Group" and which you can assert in writing or electronically to us or our data protection officer at any time.

In particular, you have the right to revoke any data protec-tion declarations of consent granted at any time, with effect for the future. In addition, you have a right of objection, provided that processing of personal data ensues based on Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest). In particular, you can object to market research/direct advertising (e.g. mailing) activities at any time.

Note on your Right to Object
You have the right to object at any time to the process-ing of your data, which ensues pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR (data processing based on a balance of interests), if there are reasons for this which arise from your particular situation.

If you do object, we shall no longer process your personal data, unless we can provide proof of compelling and legitimate grounds for such processing which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or in the event that such processing serves the assertion, exercising or defence of legal rights (renewed consideration).

If we process your personal data in order to carry out market research/direct advertising on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such advertising. We will pay due regard to this objection for the future without reconsideration. In this case, we will no longer process your data for purposes of market research/direct advertising.

You can send your objection to us at any time without the need to complete a form. You just need to send an e-mail to: dataprotection@mewa.co.uk
